We are putting an addition on our 1912 arts & crafts home that currently has a slate roof. I am torn as to what materials we should use on the new roof.New slate may be cost prohibitive so we've considered Ecostar slate shake but I'm worried it won't really match. Does anyone have any experience with this product?I like the idea of playing up the look of mixed materials but I don't want to make a huge mistake and choose wrong!! Owner of a 1912 Stickley home from the June 1911 xx catalog. Trying to learn all I can about the Arts & Crafts movement and interior design.
Tell us about your Arts & Crafts house experiences and dreams:
We found our home in one of Stickley's plans and have been pouring over his catalog reprint material for design cues. Soon we will be adding to the previous owner's addition so I've got my finger's crossed everything works together to honor the original plans.
