Ceiling idea
Just worked on a Pasadena house (that's my stenciled shade in the corner) with a lovely fully paneled ceiling. This one's original, but what a great idea if you've got things to cover up, like maybe that awful cottage cheese spray on stuff.

What a nice looking home. I like the ceiling panels. The only concern I would have is that the dark color would make the room feel small.

That ceiling is beautiful! I also loved your shade stenciling, very nice. I'm going to keep your ceiling idea in the back of my little pea brain in case I need it after the electrician gets finished rewiring my home. He talked about needing to make notches at the junctions of ceiling/wall in several areas so that he can feed wires down the wall. Praying here that it doesn't destroy the plaster on the walls and ceilings in the process!
